While 22 billion devices were already connected to the Internet of Things (IoT) in 2018, this figure is expected to rise to around 50 billion devices by 2030, according to a forecast by Statista.
The #IoT will also have a major impact in the building sector. Sensors connected to the IoT will create so-called "smart buildings" that provide a wide range of data.
